VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that convictions against Ignacio Ixta, Jr. (DOB 12/20/88), of Oxnard, will be reversed. In 2010, Ixta was convicted by a jury of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. The case was investigated by the Oxnard Police Department and prosecuted by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jonathan Zambrano (DOB 01/24/90), of Oxnard, was sentenced to 22 years in state prison for the death of Albert Salazar, also from Oxnard. On February 8, 2021, Zambrano pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted to personally using a firearm in the shooting.
