District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Anthony Nardini (DOB 09/30/80), of Bakersfield, was convicted of three felony counts including attempted murder after beating his sleeping 24-year-old son with a sledgehammer.

Priest Charged with Felony Possession of Child Pornography
District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Rodolfo Martinez-Guevara (DOB 07/11/85), a priest in the Archdioceses of Los Angeles, has been charged with felony possession of child pornography. It is further alleged that Martinez-Guevara possessed over 600 images of child sexual abuse material, including images and videos of prepubescent minors under the age of 12.
A member of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit, Martinez-Guevara is associated with several churches, including Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Oxnard.
Ventura County Law Enforcement Releases Gun Safe Storage PSA
In an effort to promote firearm safety and protect children and schools from gun-related incidents, a coalition of Ventura County law enforcement agencies and educational leaders have launched a new public service announcement (PSA). The PSA, titled “Gun Safe Storage: It’s The Law,” aims to raise awareness about the importance of secure gun storage and responsible firearms ownership as children return to school. It is also in recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month.

Camarillo Man Sentenced to 42 Years to Life for Armed Robbery
District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Keith Eric Cook (DOB 04/26/88), of Camarillo, was sentenced to 42 years to life in prison. Cook was convicted by a jury on July 20, 2023, of felony robbery with personal use of a firearm, false imprisonment, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Santa Paula Man Sentenced for 1993 Double Murder
VENTURA, Calif. – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Everardo Meza Alamillo (DOB 08/24/69), of Santa Paula, was sentenced in Ventura County Superior Court to two consecutive terms of life without the possibility of parole plus 10 years in prison. Alamillo was previously convicted by a jury on May 2, 2023, of two first-degree murder counts for the 1993 murders of his estranged wife, Adriana Meza, and her boyfriend, Armando Cauich Jr.
Murder and Other Charges Filed Against Oxnard Man
The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Willis Nichols (DOB 03/15/03), of Oxnard, was ordered to stand trial for charges involving two separate shootings. Nichols has been charged with five felony counts including murder, for the shooting death of Adrian Sandoval.
Water Board Member Charged with Felony Water Theft
District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that charges were filed against Daniel Conklin Naumann (DOB 12/24/57), of Camarillo, for multiple felony counts of grand theft and theft of utility services. Naumann owns and operates Naumann Family Farms in Oxnard. He is also a publicly elected board member of the United Water Conservation District (United). For a portion of the charged offenses, Naumann was also an alternate board member of the Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency (Fox Canyon).
