VENTURA, California – Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced today that Dr. David Michelson (DOB 02/07/47), of Oxnard, was arraigned January 20, 2021, on 22 additional felony sexual assault counts alleged to have occurred in his private medical practice between 2011 and 2019.

VENTURA, California – Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced today that Perry Adam Lieber (DOB 4/23/86), of Santa Barbara, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 24 months of felony probation after pleading guilty to felony workers’ compensation fraud in violation of Insurance Code section 1871.4(a).

Temple announced today that Tim Gautier (DOB: 06/21/65) of Thousand Oaks has been charged with the murder of his wife, Gina Gautier, which occurred on January 11, 2021. The complaint charges one count of murder with a special allegation that Gautier personally discharged a firearm during the commission of the crime.

VENTURA, California – Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced today that Anthony Michael Garcia (DOB 2/24/87), of Camarillo, has been charged with the murder of Jorge Alfaro, also of Camarillo, which occurred on January 7, 2021. The complaint alleges one count of murder with a special allegation that Garcia used a firearm in the commission of the crime. The complaint also alleges that Garcia was out of custody on bail for another felony offense when he committed this murder.

VENTURA, California – Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced today that Gregory Bryant Brewer (DOB 03/07/1989), of Port Hueneme, was charged with the January 7, 2021, attempted murders of three men in Port Hueneme. The complaint charges one count of premeditated attempted murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of mayhem. Brewer is also alleged to have personally used a hatchet as a deadly weapon and to have caused great bodily injury in the commission of these crimes.

VENTURA, California – Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced today that Omar Alan Tapia (DOB 11/17/92), of Oxnard, was sentenced to 18 years in state prison for the death of Jesus Pizano, also from Oxnard. On December 4, 2020, Tapia pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and admitted to personally using a knife during the incident.

Temple announced today that Caden Crowell (DOB 11/19/98), of Camarillo, was sentenced by Judge Ryan Wright to 50 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder of David Smith, of Thousand Oaks. On July 14, 2020, Crowell pled guilty to the first-degree murder of Mr. Smith and admitted the special allegation that he personally used a firearm causing death.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Sergio Ordonez (DOB 9/11/1988), of Ventura, was sentenced after he previously pled guilty to a felony violation of Insurance Code section 1871.4(a). Ordonez made a false and fraudulent material statement for the purpose of obtaining worker’s compensation benefits. Ordonez was placed on summary probation for two years and sentenced to serve 120 days in jail. Prior to sentencing, Ordonez paid full restitution of $26,190 to the victim in this case, Falls Lake Fire & Casualty Insurance Company (Falls Lake).
