Reporting a Crime
If you wish to report a crime, please contact your local police agency Law Enforcement Contacts or responsible investigating agency. The agency will respond to all criminal complaints and, if they conclude that a crime has occurred, the case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Consumer Protection
The Consumer Resource Guide is provided for consumers that may need to report an issue or complaint in Ventura County. Avoid solicitors who contact you by telephone, door-to-door, or via the internet. Ask the solicitor for references and call those references. Call the government agency that licenses the profession to be sure the solicitor is licensed.
When appropriate, the Consumer Protection Unit will investigate consumer complaints. These complaints typically involve businesses within Ventura County that are involved in unfair or illegal practices. Any inquiries or referrals about potential violations of consumer laws can be made on the form below or by calling (805) 662-1750.
