VENTURA, California – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Lenard Chester (DOB 04-22-61), of Oxnard, was found guilty by a jury of the first-degree murder of Leah Bullis, aged 81, with the special circumstances that the murder was committed while in the commission of rape and burglary.

Today, the District Attorney’s Office learned that Craig Anderson, a District Attorney employee, was cited this afternoon by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office for misdemeanor vandalism related to his removal of a “Black Lives Matter” sign on May 31, 2020, while off duty in Westlake Village.

Totten announced today that Megan Elizabeth Zucaro (DOB 7/11/70), of Thousand Oaks, pled guilty to one felony count of diversion of construction funds. Zucaro was charged with one felony count of grand theft, one felony count of diversion of construction funds and one felony count of money laundering.

VENTURA, California –District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Gabrielle Root (DOB 4/14/93), of Ventura, has been charged with one misdemeanor count of providing false information to a police officer in violation of Vehicle Code section 31.

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Rudolph Neidhardt (DOB 3/5/86), of Simi Valley, has been charged with the murder of Michael Majewski, which occurred on April 18, 2020, in Simi Valley. The complaint charges one count of murder and a special allegation that Neidhardt used a knife during the commission of the crime.
